Vehicle stopped and driver detained after hitting building in CLOCK HOUSE AVENUE

While on routine patrol around Barking Town Centre, PCSOs identified a vehicle that had collided with a wall, causing significant damage to the building and vehicle. As PCSOs moved to assess the scene, the driver left the location in the vehicle, creating an immediate risk to the public given the severity of the initial impact and the possibility that the driver was impaired. 

The vehicle has been identified and stopped. Police officers attended the scene, the driver of the vehicle provided a breath sample and was found to be three times over the legal alcohol limit, resulting in their arrest.
